South Atlantic Coast

With a remarkable long coastline, a myriad of ecosystems and wildlife are found along the Brazilian shore. Sadly, they are at risk. A series of resolutions that delimit areas of permanent preservation that include mangroves and sandbanks have been revoked, further reducing the protection of these essential and already so threatened ecosystems. We are witnessing the dismantling of our environmental policy, loosening legislation for the exploitation of resources in an unsustainable manner and increasingly reducing actions that seeks environmental protection. Still, many efforts are devoted daily to safeguard our oceans, its biodiversity and the traditional ways of life linked to the sea.
